This hand-carved alder spoon is riven from sustainably-harvested, locally-grown alder, straight from the homestead! Alder is one of the first woods to colonize cleared areas, and a great resource as we clear farmland again. The carvings on this spoon are inspired by the Maine woodlands from which it was harvested. The bowl of the spoon is carved with the pattern of the alder leaf. The back of the handle is carved in a birch bark pattern. The front of the handle features false-lily-of-the-valley berries with a seven-pointed starflower on the handle-tip. Finished in all-natural, food-safe flax oil, this spoon is meant for everyday use, and to be handed down from generation to generation.
Fully sealed with all-natural flax oil and ready for all uses.
