Vivi’s birthday was February 20th ~ I can’t believe a month has already passed!
A special day to celebrate a special little girl. Little Miss Genevieve turned 8 amidst balloons and birthday songs and birthday candles and birthday presents…
She was outfitted quite properly with essentials from Mimi ~ a long pink tutu and pink-glitter rainboots…
…just perfect for a little girl growing up in the Maine woods!
It’s really fun to see what the kids like to make each other for birthdays. This year, Asher made Vivi a mobile, so now each of the kids has one to hang over their bed. Spencer got an idea in his head that he wanted to make Vivi some doll-house furniture. He went all-out, and after he had made the table and sofa and chair, he asked if he could have some fabric to make hand-stitched cushions! He stuffed the cushions with the wood-shavings that he had saved from making the furniture! 🤣
Birthday cake or birthday donuts…It’s a tough choice, but ultimately Vivi went with the donuts!
And she may be a princess, but she’s also a little sister to two big brothers, and that means Carharrts and muddy boots and wrestling in the snow are just the right way to round out a birthday celebration!
Every year, I feel more poignantly the privilege of being able to celebrate the people that God has placed in our lives. Singing, gifts of appreciation, a little humble feast of favorite foods…What an honor to be able to rejoice in all the Lord has given us in each other!
Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.(Matthew 18:10, KJV)
