May God bless you, comfort you, and protect you during these difficult times.
At Riven Joiner & the Homestead Store in Downeast Maine, we are abiding by the Governor’s directives regarding staying at home, and the gradual reopening of Maine’s economy.
Since our online business has no customer-facing operations and no vendor-interactions, we are able to accept, process, and ship orders as usual.
The changes in response to COVID-19 have not actually had a dramatic impact on our daily life and operations. Our lifestyle of homesteading, homeschooling, and working with our hands means that we weren’t very affected by some of the biggest changes, like closures of schools, businesses, and restaurants. We have, of course, become very conscientious about all of the physical distancing and hygiene measures that are recommended to protect ourselves and our community.
Actually, the main thing that has changed for us here on the homestead is our daily conversation and prayer. Throughout the day, we keep an eye on the news and watch our state’s daily press conference in order to keep world events in our minds before the Lord. This is a time like no other, a tragic display of the corruption of sin in the world like nothing our generation has seen, and it is consistently on our hearts to lift up prayers to the Lord Who is sovereignly guiding us through each day for the good of His eternal kingdom.
Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.(Galatians 6:2, KJV)
More than anything, we pray for those who know the Lord to draw near to Him, and for many who do not yet know the Lord to find Him.
May the God of all comfort and peace be with you all.
