Faithful Steward

by Sydney Michalski

Being a faithful steward of what the Lord has given us is a balance of working for right now and working for the future. This is our third farm season. Each year, we clear land and establish beds and plant crops. But each year, we also try to plant things that will be for years to come.

That means planting orchard trees, like this pear, to bear fruit in future years…

But for a woodworker, that also means planting timber trees, like this sweet birch, to harvest wood in future generations.

As we harvest from the forest today, Joe is not only keeping an eye to harvesting for healthy growth, but also to planting species that will one day be furniture for our children, or our children’s children…Because the Lord asks us to be faithful in a little now, to be ready to be faithful in more, later!

His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. (Matthew 25:23, KJV)
